West Norfolk RSPCA Sponsored Dog Walk

Eau Brink Rehoming Centre

We are pleased to announce our sponsored dog walk is back for 2022 – which is great as this year is our 60th Anniversary. This year we are swapping from Sandringham to Holkham Hall – with the kind permission of Earl and Countess of Leicester. There will also be Grand Draw Tickets available on the day – with many great prizes!

If you’ve never been before, Holkham Park is a wonderful setting with the Hall looking out across the lake and the deer park – with around 400 deer. In the courtyard near the hall you will find the gift shop and the café – with some amazing food! There’s also the fantastic children’s woodland play area – if the children have any energy left to burn off before you leave!

The address of the Hall is as follows

Holkham Estate
NR23 1AB

For Satnav use NR23 1RH

We have selected the Nature Trail for the walk. The great thing about the Nature Trail is it winds through the woods where there are 19 really great information boards and there will be a quiz sheet available on the day for completing on the Nature Trail. Please be aware there are some low hanging branches and exposed tree roots which can be a trip hazard and we strongly advise not going too close to the edge of the Lake as the ground can be slippery. We would recommend sturdy footwear.

This route is not suitable for wheelchairs, it is suitable for the more rugged terrain child buggies. There are other sign posted routes around the Park that are more suitable for wheelchairs; if you would like more information please contact us.

A full risk assessment of the walk has been carried out and the Holkham Estate carries out regular full risk assessments of the Park; should you require a copy please contact us.

On the day you will find us located on the north west corner of the Hall by the Lone Pine; from the car park just head straight towards the Hall and keep walking towards the lake and we will be on the left.

Participants will receive a goodie bag – one per group. There is a parking fee of £5.00 this fee covers the whole day parking at the Hall.

Information on the route

The Orange Route 1¼ miles – The Nature Trail is to the north of the Hall and winds its way through the woods around the Lake and passed the Church of St Withburga. There are all manner of flora & fauna to find and the information boards are a brilliant way of getting to understand what you are seeing around you.

If 1¼ miles isn’t enough for you there are 6 other sign posted walks, ranging from 2¼ to 6 miles.

Please Note: All dogs must be kept on leads at ALL TIMES.
